The most obvious answer of course is 2v2, because it takes longer
before a noob is decent in 2v2, compared to 3v3.
Still 3v3 has something going for it; it takes a lot of effort to become
better than the average player, and has more teamplay and variation in it.

Still however the 3v3s look often too much alike and i choose 2v2 for
1 reason: i tend to be a better at 3v3 after playing some 2v2s, not the
other way around.

Hey in all the 3 v 3s played have you ever been in one that ended up a 2 v 2 and ultimately a 1 v 1 ?
Or does that just never happen.

Keira, i had a game as Muscovy. Nicaea and Ulster fell about the same time, soon Hanover had fallen. Me against Roma and Grenada - after 3-4 years, Rome had fallen. And 4 years after, Grenada conceded. So, they have ended like you asked :)

On 3 vs 3 it is fighting skills and also a lot of luck. If your moves get through luckily in the beginning, you are able to expand much faster than your enemy which michgt be deciding in a in a short distance fight. Also what lands you have in the beginning counts much more, as you dont have many in total.

On 2 vs 2 it is also a lot of fighting skills in the end but in the beginning also building up and expanding. As your territory is larger you need managing skills too. As 2 vs 2 are mostly long distance fights ( like nic vs gren), bad luck in the beginning is somewhat equalized. You have to be way more focused. Don´t we all feel 2 vs 2 is more exhausting than 3 vs 3? And 1 vs 1 even more so.

2 vs 2 rules!

Don't forget the 6v6s and the one 8v8 game we even pulled off (but it was a flop due to me being a horrible captain).

Here's to helping break the mold... Bigger is better!

i will go with hallali on that one.
close encounters like 3v3, 4v4 and those with more players are mainly based on luck, nearby provinces and ratios.

where in a 2v2 you need all the things hallali mentioned and more. much more pro to play 2v2 and 1v1.
