battle calcs - input please

When u think about battle calcs, how would u like the game to behave?
lets take a battle of 25 vs 25 units
1) heavy random (as it is now) = any possible result between 0 and 15 for the winner
2) medium random = any possible result between 0 and 10 for the winner
3) low random = any possible result between 0 and 5 for the winner
how shall the fort behave?
a) chaotic (as it is now) = the attacker can even win having less units
b) stable = the attacker always needs significant more units to have a chance winning
please post in form like "1a", "2b" or sth like that.. no epic comments :)
