I'm looking to mod the weapons and it would really help if I understood how that worked. I'm looking to make cannons weak vs shields but great vs armour, and beams great vs shields but weak vs armour. I haven't been able to find out much of anything about it, and unfortunately with no MP tactical combat I can't run the game on two computers and test anything out in an MP game with a bunch of set ship designs to at least figure out the end results of the weapon with the same damage but different armour penetration values vs various types of armour.I'm wondering if anyone knows how hull armour vs armour penetration on weapons works?
I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
