Can both players agree to play with faster or slower turn timers and longer or shorter game times?

What if your opponent thinks the map's provinces are fair but you think they are unfair, and vice versa?

Who picks their province first?

What happens if a player drops early in the game and doesn't come back?

What happens if a player drops after a bad start and doesn't come back?

What do the judges judge upon?

After the game time is over, is it not better for the judge to decide the winner rather than the players respective scores?

If you are participating and want to be a judge, do you have any guidelines to follow or are you Judge Dredd?

What do you do if you disagree with a decision by a judge?

Why did the chicken cross the road?

Can both players agree to play with faster or slower turn timers and longer or shorter game times?
- the rules build the frame on which any participant can refer to, if both players accept to change em concerning turn and game timer there is no problem. but i strongly recommend to stick to the rules. turn timers below 1.30 are not acceptable, as game timers under 180mins are.

What if your opponent thinks the map's provinces are fair but you think they are unfair, and vice versa?
- if one of the participants thinks that the map is not fair then you have to make a new map. but this has to be decided before or in the first turn.

Who picks their province first?
-thats up to the participants

What happens if a player drops early in the game and doesn't come back?
-the player that drops and dont come back will automatically lose.

What happens if a player drops after a bad start and doesn't come back?
-the player that drops and dont come back will automatically lose.

What do the judges judge upon?
-the judges are there to watch the games and decide about the fairness of the map and decide about unclear win/lose situations. check the CT08 for further details.

After the game time is over, is it not better for the judge to decide the winner rather than the players respective scores?
- no, the judge should stay as passive as possible and only decide in unclear situations.

If you are participating and want to be a judge, do you have any guidelines to follow or are you Judge Dredd?
-the guidelines are:
dont talk (judges are not allowed to comment the game)
enter unregistered
inform the lobby about the statisticss only
stick to honor and fairness

What do you do if you disagree with a decision by a judge?
-once you have accepted a certain player to be judge you will have to accept his/her decision.

Why did the chicken cross the road?
-you better go n fuck yourself now!

What if the judge decides the map is fair but one of the players does not?

If a player that drops loses and the end scores decide the winner, what is a possible unclear result?

In what situations can a judge force a rematch?

What if the judge decides the map is fair but one of the players does not?
-the players have the last word on the fairness of the maps.

If a player that drops loses and the end scores decide the winner, what is a possible unclear result?
- if participants doubt the fairness of a game in any way or the game is messed up by bugs of any kind or any other situation appears that makes the decision of a third neccesary.

In what situations can a judge force a rematch?
-when a judge thinks that honor and fairness can only be served by a rematch.

Well I am very picky so it will be difficult to find these maps.

In my opinion the best maps are:

Wallachia vs. Aquataine
Wallachia vs. Gascony
Grenada vs. Nic
Lithuania vs. Aragon
Muscovy vs. Castile

These maps are also playable, but I would prefer one from the 1st group:

France vs. Moldavia
Bulgaria vs. Brittany
Leon vs. Natolia (but I have never seen this map).

I might find more maps later.

Btw I think everybody such post their idea of a perfect 1vs1 map.

Aquataine (32 countries) vs. Wallachia (33).
Gascony (29) vs. Wallachia (32). So I would have to say Aquitaine vs. Wallachia is the best option.

Aquitaine has a problem though.
There are 4 moves from Aquitaine to Holland so it is very difficult for Aquitaine to hold Germany and all good 1vs1 players know that Germany is very important.
There are 2 moves from Aquitaine to Genoa though which makes it easy to win Italy and the bottom of the center.

Aquataine (32) vs. Podolia (34) is not a fair map in my opinion. It is playable and I would play it, but not in the tournament.

Podolia has Moldavia and Poland next to it which means that it will have a lot of “devoted countries” fast and it will therefore have a lot of countries advanced (culture 3) before Aquitaine.

There is 1 step from Podolia to Poland which gives Podolia a lot of options.
Podolia will often gain Germany because of 1 move to Poland and Aquitaine’s 4 moves to Holland.

Aquitaine has a chance in the early game to put a pressure on Podolia at Dalmatia and Mace, but since Podolia will have more useable countries it can defend it.

PS: My judgment has not been clouded because I lost to Harry on this map. This has always been my opinion.

Rippe I was along time sleeping last night because of you .
i mean aside from your charm and good looks disturbing me as usual, i was thinking what happens if he ends up with an awkward number of players joining his Tournament what will he do ?.... What can he do ?!?!?!

You need 8, 16, 32 or 64 etc to provide a tidy knock-out pyramid. What happens, as is likely, you end up with a number other than them ?

Run eliminator rounds ?
Maybe an FFA for the late signer uppers ?

Also by 2am i was thinking is he operating any kind of seeding and if so by what form of arbitration is he deciding the seeds.
By 3am i had the answer to that one at least "His own unimpeachable wisdom determines the seeds of course."

I only hope that same wisdom can solve the numbers problem.

yeah, i dont need 8, 16, 32 or 64 players to make a tidy k.o. pyramid. i will force any number of players into a k.o. system! it will be rough, it will be dirty and only one will survive!

Dear Mr Rippe,
Sorry to trouble you with another worry, but....
Having noticed some comedian in the Lobby by the name of 'NakedTiffany', - It was most definitely not me!!!.
It got me thinking about your ruling concerning people playing with unregistered names to stop whispering.
How can you be sure it's them ?
What if a rubbish player gets a ringer to play for them. Or what if a game goes badly and the player pretends it wasn't really them playing it was Zakistan.
Or what if a saboteur jealous of your brilliant Tournament tries to disrupt things by posing as someone else by adding a prefix like 'naked' to the name...or worse. Erm, Thats not the start of a competition Izzle.
Anyway just make sure to disqualify anyone entering the tournament calling themselves NakedTiffany.
Yours Sincerely,
Tiffany Fairweather.

dear mrs fairweather,
since i am host of this tournament i will handle any possible occuring problems as the situation requires. this includes warnings and immediate disqualification. i will only intervene if its really neccessary (check CT2008). IF something like you said should happen i will react in a appropriate way. still i am very confident that no honorable player will let some other play under his/her precious name. especially because there are many who have fun playing this tournament under fair conditions.i would mostly appreciate if the players clear minor problems themselves. all i do, is offer you the organization of this tournament based on fairness and honor.
best wishes
-RIPPE-
