Jenny, I presume you are talking about the weekend that is a week and a bit from now? Your Saturday morning that weekend will be impossible for me, but the Sunday (28th) could be ok I hope. A bit far away but it can't be helped - damn our real lives for getting in the way!

"round 1" does that include 2 games for some people? I've been a little confused about this (probably because I haven't kept up with all the reading available).

Nelson, I'll be gone rafting all this weekend. I'll be available any evening this coming week besides Tuesday (volleyball tournament).

(630 - 830 cali time)

Jenny, I am going to try to be on soon after that time (approx 13-14 hours from now - I believe that is 12:00-1:00 your time?) I will be on as soon as I can. I appreciate that if I'm a bit late it might mean you don't have enough time to play, but with any luck we should be battling what you would now call tomorrow morning.

Neo (Bulgaria) vs hallali (Normandy)
Winner: hallali
Neo conceded having 100 pop less than me.

A fair map for both of us. None had too much or less luck.

As we both thought we would have won the first match, and our judge Hubert didn't emanate too much authority and appeared surprisingly weak compared to his everyday behaviour, I agreed to do a rematch. I didn't want to beat Neo this way, as he is one of my most appreciated conqueror fellows only a true victory would do. GG Neo.

I know that you expect authority figures to give orders that must be obeyed at all costs, but attacking me for being a "weak" judge is low. I declared you the winner and you could have stuck to that ruling. You decided not to. Being brought up with democratic principles I let your disobedience slide. I suppose I would have been a "strong" judge is I disqualified you both for not obeying ze rules.

Here is the reason I refrained:

When both parties accuse the judge of being biased he must be doing something right.

In fact that is an Oscar Wildian phrase I just came up with. I better put my name under it.

When both parties accuse the judge of being biased he must be doing something right.

Superfontane(Nicaea) vs Amaterazu(Grenada)
Winner: Superfontane

A slighty better start for Superfontane, he got an advantage and kept that for a long time. In turn 15 contact was made in genoa vs roma and venetia.
During middle of the game Amaterazu made a comeback, but superfontane made it trough tunis, algiers and had 90 armies in algiers at winter. Amaterazus unfortune to go broke that year made him lose the capital 2 turns after. And also lose the game.

a goodgame overall.

Nen, Zakistan, Santaclaws and Tinky_winky can you guys please play this weekend you are holding our little group up. You've had 3 weeks to try to schedule a time for a round that was supposed to last 2 weeks. Paars and I are becoming a little restless.
