Battle calculation

The game should have a more realistic battle system, I don't imagine that troops would line up and fight one after another and it has a devastating effect on the realism of the game. The number of troops on each side should affect the overall outcome of the battle as far as the number of casualties are concerned. For example, you would not expect that the 1 in a 1 v 1 battle would kill the same amount as 1 v 100 or 1 v 1000, because the number of opponents overwhelm the other side.

As a simple example (the system in a different risk based game)
attacker kills 60% of the number of attacking armies of the defenders and vice versa with 70%. Its not very good but it at least includes the numbers in the calculation.

A system like this saves a great deal of recursive coding as well.

there is no recursive code in the battle calc

in fact, a result table of like 1000 battle calcs after another shows balanced results... whereas of course u can discuss the range of outcomes like 10 armies win over 15 armies, or 85 are able to beat 100

the question is... do we want small ranges in the battle calcs or do we want wide ranges? where is the border? shall 90 be able to beat 100, or 95?
