I did find myself relying heavily on stats for enemy intel in the early game. Not sure I like being more blind... I'll now have to keep tabs of how big people are based on total score.

You can see the stats of an enemy once you spot their capital Squeeg. I confirmed this myself in an ffa today. Their stats are also revealed to everyone once they have lost their cap.

Also, you still can't whisper people with a dot "." in their names. Example: dixie.sailor

Smart, Fenix.. smart :)

I discussed that with Rippe @Squeegie and we agreed that if u cant see enemies lands.. then u cant know how many lands he has. I also used the stats and i had the feeling its like bug abusing.. dont u think so?

Did you remove the forts that are normally on Caps during the FoW update by any chance XuuL? I was only aware of that recently and found if Fog is turned off, forts in Cap appear as normal.

My first idea about how to do a Fog of War implementation was this:

A player can see who holds which lands, just not how many armies they had on each. Diplomats and alliances/teams providing you further sight of course. This would have the benefit of giving you an overall idea of who held what but not knowing where their armies were, unless they were on a border.

Forts/defenses and population size would be a grey area. I don't know if if would affect gameplay too much either way.

@Fenix: A cap behaves like a fort, though it doesnt have one.. just for sight purposes. So making a fort in cap only adds sight. A keep of course will increase def.

@Alexey: I think the excitement is to not know anything, since u could pretty easy read your opponents strategy and/or luck. If u play vs a dedicated enemy, its rly exciting when u will face him and what he has.
